PIRAE. Hōkū Award winning female vocalist Robi Kahakalau returns to Tahiti in January, this time to celebrate her 60th birthday with friends at the Royal Tahitien Hotel on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Robiʻs performance with her Hilo bassist Emma Coloma-Nakano, will be the first live Hawaiian music event in French Polynesia since the country reopened.

Sistah Robi will perform her most popular hits, including Himene Tatarahapa, Te Noʻo Nei Au, Wahine ʻIlikea, Blue Bayou as well as other island favorites and traditional Hawaiian hula music that will feature Malia, the Hawaiian mermaid, who will  join Robi with her magical hula stylings. Robi will present Madame Nita Pilago of Wahine Toa Designs, a popular Hawaiian fashion designer who will choreograph a short fashion review of her latest designs during the two hour show. 

Robi excitedly shared, “I last played at Royal Tahitien and To’ata in 2010 with Fiji and other Hawaiian entertainers. I am stoked to be playing again at Royal Tahitien. I cannot wait to be back in the islands to celebrate my 60th birthday with friends from Hawaiʻi and French Polynesia. We have so much to celebrate as ʻohana with Tahiti mā.
